CAUCUS & CAMPAIGN MEETINGS:
🌹 – Great event for first-timers!

Very First Social Events Working Group Meeting
December 2 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Getting a bunch of socialists in a room together is a good thing, right? If you think this should happen more often, and that we should have a wider range of social events that are accessible to everyone, you should come to the inaugural meeting of the Social Events Working group at 6:30PM on Monday, Dec 2nd at the College Inn Pub.

🌹 Jewish Voice for Peace Webinar with Naomi Klein
December 5 @ 5:00 pm

This webinar on Jewish Voice for Peace, Palestine, and Climate Justice will be held at a Northend Seattle DSA member’s home. Come early if you can!

In her new book, On Fire: The (Burning) Case for the Green New Deal, Klein characterizes rising white supremacy and fortressed borders as “climate barbarism.” The book is a scathing indictment of capitalism and calls on us to break down the silos of our organizing work. Klein discusses the linkages between climate chaos, white supremacy, mass migration, electoral politics, JVP, and the Palestinian liberation struggle.

To prepare, consider reading the following (which are also chapters in the book):

🌹 District 3 Discussion Group – The Ruling Class Strikes Back: How Can We Win Medicare for All?
December 5th @ 6:30 PM
Medicare for All (M4A), Bernie’s signature issue, is under siege by corporate Democrats and the corporate media. Billions in profits are at stake for the 1%. Mayor Pete has rocketed to the head of the pack (in some polls) through his assault on M4A, aided by an eager ruling class who are determined to undermine and stop the movement for M4A. How should DSA approach Warren’s M4A plan? Should we accept the incrementalist reforms championed by the Democratic Party establishment as better than Trumpcare? What can DSA and Bernie do to win M4A?

Event Details:
Thursday, December 5th @ 6:30 PM in the Sojourners Room at All-Pilgrims Church (500 Broadway E)
Note: Enter All-Pilgrims Church through the back of the building.
