Dear John,
I wanted to share some updates with you from my time in the district. Here are three things I’ve been focusing on in the past week:
1. With the Black History Month Observance Breakfast committee, I had the honor of presenting contributions to four outstanding local organizations dedicated to preserving Black history and serving communities of the Chattahoochee Valley. This year’s award recipients are Tree of Life Healthcare, The Fountain City Poetry Slam, The W.H. Spencer House, and The Liberty Theatre Cultural Center, Inc.
2. I visited the Schnitzer Steel Industries plant in Macon, Georgia. This plant produces high quality, local, recycled metals and batteries. This kind of work lowers the costs of our vehicles and combats inflation for all. These are the kitchen table issues I'm focused on in my race for Congress.
3. I voted for legislation to make it harder for dangerous people to get access to guns. I am a gun owner and I believe that the vast majority of gun owners are law abiding citizens who possess guns for hunting, recreation, and self-defense. The overwhelming majority of Americans support common sense gun violence prevention legislation, and we can honor our Second Amendment rights while saving lives.
It is an honor to support and engage with the constituents of Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District. To help me continue to do so and to help hold our U.S. House majority, please make a contribution to my campaign.
