We want the best for our kids, and we want to make sure that Michigan is a place where they can thrive. I have two smart daughters who will graduate from the University of Michigan and make decisions about where to build their lives—and I want the answer to be Michigan.
As a mom, I get it. That’s why I’ve been taking decisive actions to fight for our kids' futures and ensure we leave them with a better Michigan.
- To fight against gun violence: I’m a committed advocate for common-sense gun laws, including background checks, closing the loophole to keep guns out of the hands of people who have committed domestic abuse, safe storage laws, and getting illegal guns off the streets.
- To support our kids' education: I’ve made the largest investment in K-12 education in history, without raising taxes, because our children deserve good schools and a world-class education.
- To fight against climate change: I unveiled the MI Healthy Climate Plan which identifies actions we can take to address climate change head-on, lower costs for Michiganders, ensure every Michigan worker has a good-paying, sustainable job, and every family has clean air, water, and a home powered by clean, reliable energy.
