There’s no holiday quite like Independence Day, so I wanted to take a moment to wish you a very Happy July Fourth!

On July 4th, 1776, the Continental Congress declared that the Thirteen Colonies were no longer subject to British rule. We chose democracy over tyranny and became the free, independent, and remarkable nation we are today. As a veteran, I’m proud of our brave service men and women who continue to fight for those same values 243 years later. 

Every day, but especially today, it’s an honor to serve you and our nation in Congress.
