Today’s January 6th Committee hearing confirmed what we have long known: that there is no evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, Donald Trump lost, and many people in his orbit told him that.

Despite the facts, Elise Stefanik joined Trump in pushing the Big Lie, which led to a violent insurrection on January 6th and which continues to threaten our democracy today.

That is why I am calling on Elise Stefanik to immediately denounce the Big Lie and publicly state that she accepts the facts found by multiple courts and investigative bodies: the 2020 election was free and fair, and President Biden is the lawfully elected president.

If she does not denounce the Big Lie in the face of all the facts to the contrary, then we have to question her fitness to serve. The North Country deserves better than a representative who would put her own political power ahead of our democracy.
