The public hearings held by the House Select Committee to investigate the attack on the Capitol on January 6th are revealing and incredibly important to repairing our democracy.

Every person deserves to know the truth about what happened in the Capitol that day, what led up to the attack, and who was responsible.

So far, we've learned several new pieces of information — including testimony of those closest to Donald Trump who told him repeatedly that he had lost the election.

We watched never before seen footage that showed in stark detail how the attack was planned in advance by domestic terrorist organizations.

We saw the immeasurable bravery of Capitol Police officers who fought off the mob for hours — which undoubtedly saved lives — despite suffering devastating and traumatic injuries.

Now, we’re seeing the Republican response. They’re working around the clock, in conjunction with their propaganda machine Fox News, to downplay the seriousness of these hearings and the severity of the threat to our democracy that day represents.

I won’t let that happen, folks, but I need you with me. These hearings are the best opportunity we have to set the record straight, and it’s critical that we do everything in our power to tell the truth to voters, hold Republicans accountable, and not allow them to distort reality.
