John,
My name is Jacqueline Collins and my passionate pursuit of justice and equality led me to become a civil rights activist, journalist, and state senator. Now, I’m a candidate to represent Illinois’ 1st Congressional District. Born in segregated Mississippi, I grew up in Englewood on the South Side of Chicago. I was inspired to pursue public service by the rhetoric of hope shared by John F. Kennedy and the public witness of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
I’ve served as a state senator in the 16th Legislative District for the last nineteen years, where I’ve fought for economic justice, criminal justice reform, health care justice, and more – and now I’m ready to take this fight to Washington to protect the bedrock of our democracy and dismantle the structural injustices confronting our nation. John, I’m so glad you’re with me on my campaign journey to Congress. Can you become a donor today by chipping in $10, $25, $35 or whatever you’re able to contribute?

It’s been my life’s work to fight for progressive policies that create safety and security for all families. As a state senator, I fought to get guns out of our communities, to close the wealth gap between Black, Brown, and white communities, and to put a stop to predatory lending. I will continue to fight for these issues of justice on the federal level if I’m elected to Congress. I hope with your support, I can get there. [[link removed]]
