Excited about the Howell Mill victory? The Starbucks workers at Ansley Mall have also filed for a union and are set to vote on June 22nd! Until then, they need as much community support as they can get.

✊ Rally for Affordable Housing ✊

Come Stand Beside Us. Support Workers' Rights. Help us call out the Atlanta Opera for being anti-worker! 225 Rogers St NE, Atlanta GA 30317. IATSE 798

Right now, Atlanta's City Council is developing and debating the City's new budget, which they will pass later this month. Atlanta’s new proposed affordable housing fund is only $7 million, and we need to make sure that $7 million serves the people that need it most.

Send an email to your City Council members letting them know that you want funding in this upcoming budget dedicated to affordable housing preservation, rent relief, and legal representation for renters. Our voices need to be heard!

Then, join us on Tuesday, June 14th at 11:00am for an Anti-Gentrification Rally, just before City Council's community development/human services committee meeting discussing the budget before it passes later this month.

🌹 Bernie 2024? 🌹

Multiple reports say Bernie Sanders hasn’t ruled out another presidential campaign. Should our democratic socialist Senator run for President a third time? Branko Marcetic argues in Jacobin Magazine that he should go for it.

"If Biden sits out 2024, the only thing standing between the country and another four years of Trumpist authoritarianism are a host of candidates who lack even the plain-spoken appeal of Scranton Joe, who in any case has presided over the Democratic Party’s ongoing erosion of working-class support. It would mean most likely relying on the exact kind of corrupt, business-as-usual Democratic politics that already failed to stop Trump once in 2016. [...] Beating Trump again won’t be easy, and it’s not remotely guaranteed. But without another set of 2020-style world-historical crises, it’s hard to see anyone but Sanders staving off his victory in two years’ time, let alone pursuing the transformational political project needed to save the country afterward."
