Last week, the January 6 Committee held its first public hearing and began sharing its findings from a nearly yearlong investigation into the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

At the center of everything was Donald Trump’s deliberate attempt at ensuring extremist organizations were present to do more than just show up to his rally.

Video and testimony showed the whole world how these extremists – encouraged by Trump purposely turning his rally into a march to the Capitol building – organized an effort to storm the Capitol building and overturn an election Trump clearly lost.

Team, the Committee’s findings further demonstrate that our democracy continues to be in danger if we allow Trump and his minions to push this election lie. We cannot let Kevin McCarthy, a far-right Republican subpoenaed by the Committee, to become the Speaker of the House next year. We must unify against this far-right faction and protect our democracy, just like the January 6 Committee is doing right now. Will you make a contribution today and defend our Democratic majority?

Over the last year, the Committee worked diligently reviewing thousands of records, interviewing hundreds of people, and issuing nearly 100 subpoenas, all in an effort to show the American people how far Trump was willing to go to remain in power.

Now, after a yearlong investigation, the Committee is revealing its findings in a series of hearings, and Americans will have clear evidence that Trump and his cronies not only failed to protect American democracy, but failed to protect the American people and their vote.
