Today the January 6th Committee established beyond a shadow of a doubt that Trump knew The Big Lie was bogus but kept pushing it anyway.

The Committee played clip after clip of Trump’s own campaign manager Bill Stepien, Attorney General Bill Barr, his daughter Ivanka, and dozens of other Trump and Republican officials describing in detail how they took Trump’s allegations seriously, found them to be groundless upon investigation, and told him so in no uncertain terms.

Having witnessed just how controversial The Big Lie was among Trump’s biggest allies, it’s no longer surprising not one of the 62 court cases Trump brought forward substantiated any evidence of election fraud.

But if members of Trump’s own Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, party, inner circle, and even family had the integrity to stand up to the president and tell the truth, why didn’t the members of The 147?

Why are they still, to this day, lying to their supporters and pushing The Big Lie?

Whether it’s greed or fear, we don’t care. The January 6th Committee has eliminated any benefit of the doubt that an elected official could believe in The Big Lie in good faith.

Once again, the January 6th Committee has confirmed what we already know: The 147 aren’t going to hold themselves accountable, so we have to do it ourselves, at the ballot box.
