Subject: New Speakers Announced for Strengthening the IRS to Create a More Equitable Tax Code
Dear John,
To get us closer to an economy that works for everyone, we need policies, programs, and systems targeted to help us all prosper and thrive. One way we can expand economic prosperity for all is to modernize our tax system. We know that with funding, the government can design tax programs that meaningfully and immediately support those who need the most help. By properly funding the IRS, we can better support our lowest-income families, especially families of color.
To discuss these issues in depth, Prosperity Now, along with our partners SaverLife, United Way, and the National Women’s Law Center, are hosting a webinar to brainstorm solutions on how to remake our current economy into an economy that works for everyone. In this virtual discussion, tax experts and the Treasury Department’s Office of Tax Policy will cover how slashed IRS funding has made it difficult for the agency to support the lowest-income families, especially families of color.
