Lawmakers have failed to address the gun violence epidemic in America for far too long.

NPR has featured Maxwell Frost as one candidate whose personal experience and proven track record of standing up to the gun lobby, standing up for gun safety, and winning could change that.

Nine years ago, the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary school left 28 people, including 20 children, dead.

Maxwell was still in high school, but this tragedy pushed him into action and started his career in anti-gun violence activism.

Since then, mass shootings have become a frightening regularity: Parkland, Pulse, Las Vegas, Uvalde, and too many others to name.

Despite promises after promises from legislators, nothing is done to address the gun violence crisis. The NRA and the gun lobby have repeatedly blocked any change.

But Maxwell won't give up. After Parkland, he became the National Organizing Director for March for Our Lives which made history by catalyzing unprecedented support and energy for action on the issue.

The gun lobby is terrified of Maxwell being elected.

They know he’ll fight for long overdue policies such as universal background checks, red-flag laws, and banning assault weapons.

But it won’t end there. Maxwell will work to dismantle our gun culture problem by funding local community violence intervention programs and developing a youth and BIPOC led task force to address the systemic causes of gun violence.
