GLSEN stands with students every single day.

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday—an annual day of giving celebrated by millions of people who want to help their communities.

At GLSEN we celebrate the students, educators, and advocates supporting 8 million LGBTQ students nationwide every single day. And we won’t stop working until all LGBTQ students and teachers feel safe in the classroom and in their communities.

Will you take a moment to support this work?

During the last 12 months we’ve witnessed truly unprecedented attacks by the Trump administration on LGBTQ students and adults in K-12 schools:
  • This year, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos kicked off her back-to-school tour at a federally-funded school in Milwaukee that teaches that homosexuality is a sin.
  • More recently, Secretary DeVos proposed erasing transgender students from the Department of Education’s data on civil rights violations in our schools.
  • In October, U.S. Attorney General, William Barr, described LGBTQ issues in schools as “ground zero” in the “secular war on religion.” He pledged that the Department of Justice would be at the forefront of the fight against GLSEN’s work to make schools safe and affirming spaces for all students.
  • The same month the Supreme Court heard arguments in cases threatening federal protections for LGBTQ people at work, and could legalize LGBTQ teachers being fired, just for being themselves.

For 30 years GLSEN has worked hand-in-hand with GSAs, educators, advocates, and parents at the grassroots and national level. We know how hard it is for LGBTQ students to walk into a classroom where they don’t feel safe—and we know how important it is to be there every single day and remind them they are not alone.

Will you make a difference today with an early #GivingTuesday gift?

Thank you for your support.
