Our official school board candidates are Gene Posca, District 1; Jacqueline Rosario, District 2; and Thomas Kenny, District 4. It is an unusual move for the Republican Party to get involved in non-partisan races. But recently school boards across the country started to openly push a liberal agenda, substituting indoctrination for education. CRT and LGBTQ agendas are being pushed on our children with social and emotional learning taking precedence over the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic. Pornography books are easily accessible to our children through school libraries. Previously, during Covid, school boards required the masking of children when science did not support the decision. Suddenly, schools are attempting to make decisions that only parents should be making. Vocal and concerned parent involvement was criticized by school boards and the DOJ to the point of labeling these concerned parents “domestic terrorists.” Parents’ rights were taken away when masks were forced in school. The result of these government actions in Florida was the creation of the activist organization, “Moms for Liberty” and the spearheading by our state representative, Erin Grall, and passage of the “Parents’ Bill of Rights” in 2021. This year the “Parental Rights in Education” law was passed. We are fortunate in Florida to have our great Governor, Ron DeSantis who is fighting against liberals. By signing the above legislation, he has told liberals and the education establishment that we are not going to let the government raise our children. We need to defend our children and our future. Electing conservatives to school boards is more important than ever. GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS GOVERNOR EXPANDS SCHOOL SAFETY Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday signed off on a bill that expands the scope of school safety measures permitted within the state. The bill is built upon a series of legislative actions over the past three years in order to implement recommendations made by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission, according to the governor’s press office. The bill, HB 1421, authorizes the Commissioner of Education to enforce school safety and security compliance, whereas previously, the Commissioner had limited oversight of the regulatory maintenance. The signing also grants safe school officers the right to conduct arrests on charter school property, while safe school officers are now required to undergo crisis intervention and training to better be able to de-escalate on-campus situations. Law enforcement officers will also be required to be present and involved in active assailant emergency drills, which schools are more commonly holding. “Every child needs a safe and secure learning environment,” said DeSantis. “By signing HB 1421, we continue to build on the many steps we have taken since 2019 to implement the recommendations of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Commission, while also making record investments in mental health and school safety.” In 2021, DeSantis signed SB 590 which required school safety officers to receive mental health training and required schools to give timely notification of threats, unlawful acts, and significant emergencies. In Fiscal Year 2021-2022, the Governor signed $368 million in the budget for school safety and mental health funding, including $120 million for the Mental Health Assistance Allocation, an increase of $20 million over the previous year, $180 million maintained for the Safe Schools component of the Florida Education Finance Program, and $6.5 million for the Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program to train teachers and staff for emergencies. “This legislation is a huge leap forward in school safety,” said Florida Board of Education Member Ryan Petty. “I want to thank Governor DeSantis for his bold leadership on this most fundamental issue. Nothing is more important than providing safe and secure learning environments for our children and educators. Extending the Commission’s work and requiring mental health and de-escalation training for safe-school officers will make a major difference in mitigating the risk of a future tragedy.” FLORIDA JOINS OTHER STATES IN CRACK DOWN ON STREET TAKEOVERS, RACING AND STUNT DRIVING Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed a new law allowing police to hand out fines and make arrests based on video evidence of on-street stunt driving during dangerous “street takeover” events. The states of Arizona, California, Georgia, Mississippi, and Texas have enacted similar legislation. DeSantis’ office announced Wednesday he had signed the measure (HB 399), which will make several changes to state statutes to more efficiently crack down on stunt driving activities that have grown in popularity across the country. Florida already prohibits such behavior, but current statutes require police to be on the scene to enforce the law. This legislation changes that. It adds vehicle types and more banned conduct, including stunt driving, operating a vehicle to film or record prohibited activities, carrying fuel for vehicles involved in those prohibited activities and street takeovers themselves — a space of public roadway people on foot have encircled for the purpose of cutting off outside traffic, including police. The law goes into effect Oct. 1. These deadly street takeovers have grown increasingly common in Miami-Dade County and around Tampa and Jacksonville where ATVs, licensed and unlicensed, are doing wheelies, and creating incredible traffic situations. In late September, a stunt racing event in Miami Gardens injured five people and killed two. One was a 42-year-old mother of four decapitated while riding in one of several cars doing doughnuts in the middle of an intersection while onlookers recorded the event on their phones just feet from the spinning vehicles. Under the measure, a person will be guilty of a noncriminal traffic infraction if he or she is found to be a spectator at a race, street takeover or stunt driving event, all for which violators would be required to pay a $65 penalty. Further, if an officer has probable cause to believe someone has committed a violation relating to a street takeover or stunt driving, the officer may arrest that person without a warrant. The bill also increases penalties for impersonating a police officer, including the use of flashing red, blue or red and white lights, from a noncriminal violation to a first-degree misdemeanor. GOV. RON DESANTIS ON THE WARPATH AGAINST BILLIONAIRE GEORGE SOROS Soros, a liberal donor and activist, just helped fund a left-wing radio network targeting Hispanic Americans, Fox News reported. DeSantis said in a statement to the outlet that the Hungarian-born businessman is trying to “manipulate” the media landscape in his state and push a “Marxist agenda on voters.” So, the governor’s re-election campaign is hitting back at Soros. By buying an ad on two Miami radio stations that are part of this new left-leaning radio network, DeSantis is warning voters about the media purchase and “leftist disinformation” as he continues the “fight against socialism in America,” his campaign said. “Governor Ron DeSantis is taking on Soros on his own turf with a Spanish language ad buy on the Soros network, serving as a PSA to Hispanic Floridians to warn of the pro-socialism, radical agenda behind The Latino Media Network,” the DeSantis campaign told Fox News. The Latino Media Network will be made up of 18 Hispanic radio stations in Florida and elsewhere. Those include WAQI-AM and WQBA-AM in Miami. This new network was announced on Friday and was partially financed by Lakestar Finance, an investment group affiliated with Soros Fund Management. Left-wing activists and entrepreneurs Jess Morales Rocketto and Stephanie Valencia are at the head of the network formation and raised $80 million to launch it, Axios reported. Rocketto is an “alumna of Hillary for America, the AFL-CIO, Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee, Rebuild the Dream, and the New Organizing Institute,” according to the Ash Center at Harvard’s Kennedy School. Valencia was a White House staffer during the Barack Obama administration, Fox News reported. Rocketto and Valencia expect the network to give them “access to one-third of the Hispanic population.” But DeSantis’ ads are trying to hit back against any left-wing propaganda that might come on the radio stations in this new network. “Warning, voters! The left is taking control of our local media. Billionaire George Soros, known for financing extreme leftist causes, is now financing the purchase of Hispanic radio stations right here in Miami,” the translated version of the DeSantis ad says, Fox News reported. The ad directly calls out Soros and appeals to the large Cuban American population in South Florida. “They are coming with their ideological agenda,” the ad continues. “Soros and his minions know what this community represents in the fight against socialism in America. This community will not get confused. Under Gov. Ron DeSantis’ leadership, Florida is standing against the corporate media and leftist disinformation.” DeSantis is set on fighting back against any media manipulation meant to influence voters in his state. “The Soros-funded radical Left is running a scheme to manipulate local media in Florida to push their Marxist agenda on voters,” he said in his statement to Fox News. “In Florida, we reject the professional Left and their attempt to infiltrate our state and will always stand for truth and freedom.” FLORIDA MEDICAID: Puberty Blockers Not Proven Safe or Effective Evidence that puberty blockers improve mental health in minors diagnosed with gender dysphoria is "low or very low quality," a report reveals. [link removed] ATTORNEY GENERAL ASHLEY MOODY AG WARNS OF NEW TEXT SCAM Attorney General Ashley Moody is warning residents about a text message scam offering a 'free gift' for paying a bill on time. Moody's office says the scheme is designed to entice text recipients with the promise of a present to click on a link to an unfamiliar website requesting personal information. Residents are reminded to never use links from unknown phone numbers or reply to suspicious messages, especially if free gifts or money are promised. The Better Business Bureau details recent reports of this scheme that entices text recipients with the promise of a present to click on a link to an unfamiliar website requesting personal information. It’s best to remains suspicious of businesses offering free gifts and money via text or email. "Scammers will try anything to steal your personal information. Their latest trick is simple, but effective-the promise of a gift in exchange for personal information. Don't fall for it. Never provide personal information in response to a solicitation or click on links contained in a suspicious message. Remember that if something seems too good to be true, then it's probably a scam," said Moody. The attorney general recommends doing the following to avoid falling for 'free gift' text scams: • Do not click on any links from an unknown sender-these links often contain malware or lead to harmful sites. • If a company is mentioned in the message, check if the text is legitimate by looking up the company's official website and contacting them at their listed phone number. • Refrain from responding, as replying alerts the scammer that the number is active and may lead to more texts or calls. • Block the phone number and delete the message. • Never send personal or financial information in response to an unsolicited text. Members of Congress Pose Questions to FDA Panel on COVID Vaccines for Babies and Toddlers 40 U.S. Reps. Bill Posey and Louie Gohmert along with U.S Senators Ted Cruz and Ron Johnson led a letter signed by 18 Members of Congress calling for answers from the Administrator of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and its VRBPAC panel regarding Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) approval for use of the COVID-19 vaccines in children ages five and under. The VRBPAC panel is scheduled to meet on June 15 to consider emergency use authorization of the vaccine. Among the question asked are: Why has the FDA recently lowered the efficacy bar for COVID vaccines for youngest children? If approved and widely used among children ages five and under how many lives does FDA estimate will be saved in this age group over the next year? Given the injuries reported in the FDA’s own VAERS system, how will the FDA evaluate potential tradeoffs of serious vaccine injuries versus serious COVID outcomes? How many healthy children ages five and under without pre-existing medical conditions have died or been hospitalized from COVID or its variants? CDC reports seropositivity of 68% of children 1-4 years, 77% for those 5-11, and 74% children ages 12-17. With two additional COVID waves since this data was reported and corresponding increases in seropositivity, what percentage does FDA consider herd immunity? Why has the FDA been so slow to release the hundreds of thousands of pages of data from pre-approval manufacturer studies, post-approval adverse events data, other post-approval manufacturer data submitted to the FDA as required by law? “I am concerned that in a rush to mandate a ‘one-size-fits-all’ policy, the FDA is failing to consider that this age group is least at risk for complications from COVID and that the CDC estimates 68% of those under five have already had COVID. Commonsense would suggest that VRBPAC members have already asked these questions, so we would expect a response by the time they meet. If we don’t receive answers, it is right to assume they haven’t asked basic benefit and risk questions about using this vaccine for millions of children who are at very little risk from COVID,” said U.S. Rep. Bill Posey. “We are in our third year with COVID-19, and we know vastly more about the virus now than we did in 2020. One of the most important things we know is that this virus poses minimal risk for children. Before the FDA approves an Emergency Use Authorization for a children’s vaccine, parents should be able to see the data and paperwork they would use to justify this decision. This is the least the FDA can do for families in Texas and across the country so parents can make the best decisions for their children,” said U.S. Senator Ted Cruz. “The rush to approve emergency use authorization for COVID vaccines for our nation’s youngest children is deeply disturbing, especially considering the 99.995% COVID survival rate for children. Coupled with the fact that we do not know the long-term side-effects of the shot as well as the sudden increase in post-vaccination myocarditis and pericarditis of other damages that may be done to our youth, the push for vaccine approval seems absolutely reckless. “Just last month, the FDA essentially announced that people should no longer take the Johnson and Johnson vaccine due to dangerous blood clotting side effects. This, after telling us the J&J vaccine was safe and effective for over a year. As Americans, we have every right to demand that the utmost safety & efficacy standards be implemented and rigorous studies and testing be performed before these injections are approved for anyone, especially innocent children. “The CDC and FDA work for the American people, not Big Pharma, and it’s time they are reminded of that. There are many questions I’d like to see answered before any final decision is made on administering this shot to young children,” said U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert. SENATOR MARCO RUBIO Rubio, Colleagues Introduce Keep Our Communities Safe Act Senators Marco Rubio and Jim Inhofe (R-OK) introduced the Keep Our Communities Safe Act. The legislation would close a loophole that requires immigration authorities to release, into the United States, illegal immigrants whose immigration cases are still being processed, a practice also referred to as "catch and release." “Our Southern Border is in disarray, and the Biden Administration refuses to enforce immigration laws,” Rubio said. “This bill would put an end to the “catch and release” practice, which does nothing but incentivize more people to make the dangerous trek across our southern border.” “Our immigration system is broken and President Biden won’t acknowledge the crisis we are facing at the southern border,” Inhofe said. “That’s why my colleagues and I introduced the Keep Our Communities Safe Act this week. This legislation would close the ‘catch-and-release’ loophole, which puts law abiding citizens, local law enforcement officials and communities at risk. Our bill will ensure that illegal aliens who have been found guilty of violent crimes and aggravated felonies are not able to remain in our communities. As the current law stands, an illegal alien with a criminal record is released back into the United States after six months if no other country accepts them for deportation. This bill is a commonsense solution and it’s time for it to become law.” Click here for a full list of original cosponsors. Rubio Urges World Leaders to See Maduro for the Threat That He Is Senator Marco Rubio released a statement as Venezuelan narco-dictator Nicolás Maduro continues his international tour during the Summit of the Americas hosted in Los Angeles. “World leaders looking to the Biden Administration for how to engage with the Maduro regime should stop,” Rubio said. “You can see for yourself the company Maduro keeps. While democracies are meeting in Los Angeles, Maduro is in Tehran. That should tell you everything you need to know.” Unity - Time to Come Together! As we approach the 2022 mid-term elections and the 2024 presidential election, and in light of the abject failure of the Biden administration, we know that the very survival of our republic depends on the outcome of those elections. Therefore, we must stay unified. Never lose sight of who our political opponents are… the progressive left Democrats who are taking our country off a cliff with the active help of Big Tech and the old-line national news media.
