Dear John,

This morning, I stood in the cold rain on the steps of the Supreme Court of the United States to call on the Court to uphold the integrity of our democracy and protect the laws that save American lives. You can watch my speech here ([link removed]) or on our Facebook page ([link removed]).

As I said this morning, the gun lobby has told us for years that guns will keep us free. That simply is not true. The reality is that gun violence confines where we go, how we worship, what we do, and how we live.

Guns do not make us free -- they bring death, violence, and injustice.

I believe that the Roberts Court will do the right thing and strike down this case as moot. But no matter what happens, one thing is clear from this morning: this issue and this movement that you have helped build is not going away.

I am proud to fight for you! Thank you for your support.

All the best,
