Barnet Mental Health services want to hear what you have to say about Adult Mental Health services. We are setting up a regular forum and need you to get involved to feedback your experiences and share your ideas. The forum encourages and promotes service users and carers working alongside staff to coproduce services.

Mental Health Consultation - the UK Youth response, Wednesday 15 June, 2.00 - 4.00pm (From UK Youth)

The UK Government has launched a consultation ahead of an upcoming 10-year plan for mental health in England. It’s asking about what needs to change in mental health services, as well as what wider action the Government should take to support people to stay well. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of mental health support in England.

These workshops are a chance for youth organisations and cross-sector allies to:

- Learn more about the consultation and how you can respond

- Influence UK Youth’s response to the consultation.

Taking and sharing photographs has increased in popularity across social media sites and websites dedicated to sharing such images. But can it have a benefit for mental health and well-being?

The Rainbow Room: A young people's LGBTQ+ online space (for ages 17-24), Thursday 16 June, 6.00 - 7.30pm (From Rainbow Mind)

This is an online queer space run by and for members who identify as LGBTQ+, or, for those who exploring gender, sexuality, identity and relationship diversity.  All members of the LGBTQ+ community are invited, whether you identify with an individual letter of the acronym, more than one or are unsure of how you identify.

London Hearing Voices Network Meeting (online), Wednesday 15 June, 2.00 - 4.30pm (From LHVN)

Poetry, self-Injury, and the language of distress.  Clare Shaw is the speaker for this LHVN Online Network Meeting.

Clare will draw from their own personal journey of self-injury and psychiatry to explore the impact of the medicalising language of disorder and dysfunction. Working together to create a poetic, empowering language of human experience.

Barnet Friends Volunteer Taster Event, Wednesday 15th June, 1.30 - 3.00pm (From Community Barnet)

Barnet Friends is a telephone befriending project for isolated residents living in Barnet, aged 18-55. Their volunteers provide a non-judgmental space for Barnet residents to experience companionship and receive emotional support.

They support people with moderate to severe mental health conditions and chronic health issues. In addition to providing emotional support, you can help residents improve their confidence and self-esteem to connect with other people and services in the community. Your call can make all the difference!

Building Friendship

Building Friendship is a free weekly drop in every Friday for those with mental health difficulties.

Meet at East Barnet Baptist Church hall, EN4 8PS.  Come along for a cup of coffee and a friendly chat between 10am and 12noon.

Mind and Mood Support Group

Mind & Mood Support Group has returned to face to face meetings at 55 Christchurch Avenue, London N12 0DG.  To enquire about becoming a new member, please contact either Peter or Sandra below.

We are a Peer-Led Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation (DDPO).

Nearly all of our directors and staff have lived experience of disability, including mental health issues and/or long-term health conditions.

We believe that learning to use our lived experience for social change is a skill. We have become experts in harnessing the lived experience of our staff, members, volunteers and the people who use our services to design and deliver higher quality, more person-centred services.
