This misguided Supreme Court decision has corrupted our political system. Millionaires and billionaires feel free to buy their way and guarantee their preferred political outcomes.
We see it in our Democratic Primary where two billionaires have each pledged to spend over $100 MILLION of their personal money to win the nomination.
I don’t get the sense that people are looking for a billionaire savior.
I believe they want someone who is in touch with the everyday needs of Americans out there, in every walk of life.
But these billionaires feel so entitled to the nomination -- Mayor Bloomberg even said that he doesn't need to participate in the Democratic Debates because he can flood the race with money regardless -- that they don’t care about what the people want.
I’m from an immigrant family, I grew up in an underserved neighborhood, and Americans like me deserve the same chance as a billionaire hedge fund manager to succeed in this country.
