Some of the biggest banks in the United States are funding fracking in the
Northern Patagonia region of Vaca Muerta in Argentina.

Citibank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and Morgan Stanley are all putting up huge
sums of money to help fossil fuel companies frack for oil and gas in Vaca
Muerta.

So far, oil companies have only fracked about 4% of the region... but if
these banks keep giving funding, the consequences will be horrible — for
the people of Argentina and for people all over the world.

Here's the good news: if we can cut off the funding, we can stop the
fracking. Our movement and campaigners with 350.org were just successful
in getting banks to commit not to fund a destructive pipeline in Africa,
so we know this kind of pressure works.

Thousands of people have signed our petition this week in
support of stopping these banks from funding the Argentinian oil company
YPF's fracking efforts in Vaca Muerta.

Can you take the next step and add a contribution to 350.org to support
our campaign to cut off funding for fracking in Vaca Muerta?

Financial institutions like Citibank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and Morgan
Stanley have a choice: they can either keep funding climate-wrecking
companies and their operations like Vaca Muerta, or they can fund the just
transition required for the world to get off of fossil fuels.

Right now, these banks think they can make easy money in funding fossil
fuel extraction. They think that their customers won't notice, or won't
care. They think they can get away with building yet another
climate-wrecking bomb of CO2.

It's up to us to show them that they're wrong.

Oil companies only exist for one purpose — to extract fossil fuels and
make obscene profits, no matter what happens to the planet.

But the banks that fund these projects have customers and shareholders to
whom they have to be responsive.

Our goal is to make it too painful — in terms of their bottom line or
their public image — for banks to keep funding these projects. And in
order to do that, we need to continue to build our international movement
to take on projects like Vaca Muerta.

If enough of us stand together, we can win, stopping this fracking project
and others like it all around the world.

fracking in Vaca Muerta and other climate-wrecking projects around the
world.

Thank you so much for all you do for our climate and our planet.

In solidarity,
