We know that the high cost of gas is price gouging and not just inflation because Big Oil is raising gas prices disproportionately higher than the cost of a barrel of oil.
Companies like Shell are reporting more than nine billion in profits last quarter alone, three times higher than what they made this time last year.
Right now, the federal government doesn't have the ability to investigate price gouging, so these powerful corporations are left unchecked.
Katie’s bill will hold these greedy corporations accountable.
