John –
55 years ago, the United States Supreme Court’s landmark decision in
Loving v. Virginia struck down all laws banning interracial marriage. Today, we celebrate this anniversary as
Loving Day – a recognition of this watershed moment in our fight for justice and equal protection of the law.
Yet 55 years after Loving, we are faced with an extremist, right-wing Court that appears determined to take us back decades. They believe that our basic rights should be determined by individual states.
The leaked majority opinion gutting
Roe v. Wade is a threat to our fundamental right to privacy and due process. Dismantling
Roe poses a direct threat to
Loving and so many fundamental freedoms. Now that this Court has come for our right to reproductive health care, it’s clear that their extremism has no bounds.
On this Loving Day, will you please demand Congress take action to defend our rights from this increasingly extreme activist Court? We cannot sit by as the far-right attempts to turn back the clock.
Thanks for making your voice heard today.
