Across the country workers and their families are being robbed by their employers. One study from the Economic Policy Institute found that employers steal $15 billion a year from workers by paying less than the minimum wage. Here in DC workers have fought hard to raise the minimum wage and pass strong anti-wage theft legislation but we still have a widespread issue with employers not informing workers of their rights and/or not complying with the law. If we are serious about preventing displacement and lifting up our communities we must put a stop to wage theft. That is why the Just Pay Coalition has partnered with the Office of Attorney General Karl A. Racine to host a "Pay Stub Clinic" on Tuesday December 10th to teach folks about how to use their pay stub to ensure that their rights are being respected.
