In the meantime, PRA has been busy producing timely and new incisive analysis of forces and trends on the Right. From close, circumspect studies of the emerging “former” White nationalist groups in the United States, to an enlightening look at Christian political organizing and the rise of the Far Right in Australia, we continue to track emergent and growing movements that pose credible threats to democracy, justice, and human rights. Browse our website and follow us on social media (Twitter, Instagram, & Facebook) for our newest research. Always in search of great ideas, PRA's Communications Team ICYMI Buffalo Massacre An Act of White Nationalist Political Violence By Political Research Associates "The attack should be understood as an act of political violence, motivated by White nationalism and misogyny, and intended to provide a model for others to follow: a model that takes Black people in particular, and people of color more generally, as enemies that threaten White existence, and that positions Jews as the secret orchestrators of threats to White people. The shooter’s “manifesto” is not about personal “hatred” so much as a political ideology that defines Blacks—and Jews—as a racial enemy. He justifies this with a profound anti-Blackness that is expressed at length, incorporating memes and infographics from an array of White nationalist sources to “prove” the danger Blacks pose to White people as a group (and as a supposed nation), reproducing the usual “race realism” (i.e. “scientific racism”) talking points about White superiority, genes and I.Q., and race and crime. The screed gives explicit voice to ideas that linger in a much wider swath of the population, if generally in more coded forms." Transphobic and Anti-Abortion Policies are a Direct Threat to My Religious Freedom by Susan Frederick-Gray A new poll from PRRI shows that 97% of the Unitarian Universalists support nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people. So when states pass laws suppressing rights for LGBTQ communities under the guise of "religious liberty," they are violating the religious freedoms of the Unitarian Universalists.
