Tomorrow is a big day. For the truth, for our democracy, for our country. Special Counsel Robert Mueller will testify before Congress about his investigation and his report.

I have plenty of questions for Mueller, and I hope we're able to breathe life into the Special Counsel's report so the American people can understand the full breadth of the Trump campaign's unethical, unpatriotic and corrupt conduct and efforts to conceal it.

We will make clear that far from an exoneration, the Mueller report is a devastating description of a campaign and administration led by a deeply unethical man who invited and welcomed a foreign attack on our democracy, then lied about it, and tried to cover it up.

But the truth is that we don't need Mueller or anyone else to tell us who Donald Trump is. We already know, and we have known for a long time. We know that he will always put his private interests ahead of the country. We know he will divide us with racist attacks. We know he thinks nothing of misleading the American people or just flat making things up - he does it every day.

So, friend, tomorrow is important. But so is the day after. Because on the day after, Donald Trump will still be president and he'll still have a Republican party that has subjugated itself to him, no matter what. And it will still be up to us to fight for our country and our democracy, and to hold him accountable.

I have no doubt that the GOP and Trump will come after me tomorrow, just like they always do with anyone who speaks out about their corruption. And I say, so be it it.
