"I'm so happy to have given birth here," she says. "I've learned a whole lot."
-- Musu, 40, Sierra Leone

As you can imagine, I read many stories from women whose babies' lives are at risk. Sometimes those stories are truly heart-breaking. But Musu's story (below) reminds me of the power we have when we band together -- health workers, volunteers and supporters -- to bring quality health care to communities around the world.

With your help, we are saving lives and giving hope to those who need it most. And right now, we are urgently trying to reach our #GivingTuesday goal of $30,000, so we can unlock the full 4X match and reach more people in need of care.

Help reach the goal by midnight tomorrow by chipping in with a gift of any amount now.

Dear Friend,

Musu is a mother with a history of giving birth to tiny babies. She recently gave birth to an underweight baby in a region of Sierra Leone where hospital resources are limited, and many have no incubators. Even when they do, regular power shortages in the country can make depending on an incubator a death sentence for a premature baby. That's why it was vital that Musu gave birth in a district hospital where Project HOPE has been working with health care staff and mothers to save newborns' lives.

Make your gift now -- and it will have 4X the impact.

Thanks to the generosity of people like you, Project HOPE-trained volunteers showed Musu how to use her body's warmth to simulate the womb. Using this method, called Kangaroo Mother Care, she was able to regulate her baby's temperature, promote bonding and prevent infections easily contracted during the first days of life.

This technique is saving lives of newborns around the world, and by making a gift in honor of #GivingTuesday tomorrow, you will help even more new mothers protect their babies.

Every penny raised toward our goal helps deliver this kind of lifesaving impact. Show your compassion with an early #GivingTuesday gift -- and thanks to our special 4X match, every dollar of your gift will go 4 times as far!

Yours gratefully,

Rabih Torbay
