Bill of Rights Day

Visitors can celebrate the anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights by learning about the first 10 amendments during interactive games and shows. Visitors can also take a special tour of Signers’ Hall to learn about the history of the Bill of Rights and why it was left out of the original U.S. Constitution.

Join us for two timely discussions on the history and future of presidential impeachment. Top constitutional scholars, including Michael Gerhardt, John Malcolm, Kimberly Wehle, and Keith Whittington discuss the process of impeachment, the procedural steps the Constitution requires, and the state of the current impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. Current and former members of Congress, including Representatives Dwight Evans and Mary Gay Scanlon, and former Congressmen Charles Dent and Ryan Costello, offer insight into how the Trump impeachment inquiry may play out and explore its potential impact.

The Girl in the Picture: Remembering Vietnam
Friday, December 6 | 12-1 p.m.
On June 8, 1972, the South Vietnamese air force dropped napalm on its own troops and civilians after mistaking them for North Vietnamese forces. Nine-year-old Kim Phúc Phan Thi, who was severely injured, was fleeing when an AP photographer captured her in one of the most iconic photographs from the Vietnam War. Join her as she discusses her experience; Mark Bowden, contributing writer for The Atlantic; and classical composer and jazz trumpeter Hannibal Lokumbe for a unique discussion on the Vietnam War and its impact. A special performance by Lokumbe will precede the discussion.
