John,

We marched as a part of the March for Our Lives. Now, we’re taking the fight against gun violence to our local papers to change the conversation on gun violence.

It was an honor to stand alongside so many NCGV Action Fund supporters and allies at the march today to demand lawmakers deliver the change in laws and funding that our community needs.

We have to keep the pressure up. That’s why longtime NCGV Action Fund supporter and volunteer Kate Douglas Torrey is offering a training on letters to the editor on Tuesday, June 14th at 7 PM by Zoom.

Letters to the editor, or LTE’s, from folks like you and me played a role last year in the effort to stop dangerous gun-related bills from passing the NC General Assembly. They are one of the most effective ways to raise your voice and change the conversation on gun violence.

This movement needs your voice now. You don’t have to be an expert, you just have to care about your community. The session will give you a playbook for exactly how to write and place a letter to the editor in your local paper. So join us on Tuesday!

See you there,

Sara Smith

P.S. This approach works. Last year, NCGVA volunteer Anne Lipe got this letter published, which helped to maintain gun safety in our state against attempted rollbacks. Join volunteers like Anne next Tuesday!
