Team, it’s been two years since our state headquarters went up in flames, displacing our staff and supporters during a crucial election year. Thanks to our grassroots donor team, we’ve recently been able to find a new state headquarters, just in time for another crucial election year.
And then almost on cue, the air conditioning went out. Trust us, it’s not a “dry” heat when there’s no air conditioning. So once again, our staff and our supporters are displaced during a crucial election year, just as we were starting to get ourselves back together. It’s been incredibly disruptive to our work.
Obviously, we can’t get the work done we need to do during the hot desert summer without air conditioning. But we didn’t budget a brand new AC unit into our plans. Last time we asked our team for support when our building burnt down, y’all rose to the challenge and made sure we didn’t have to take any money out of our campaigns to fix things.
Team, so we’re asking again. We don’t want to take money out of our voter contact or advertising budgets. We clearly didn’t anticipate our new headquarters having problems this early either.
