Dear friend,

In Texas, mourning the victims of mass shootings has become a devastating part of our routine. Over the last fifteen years, we’ve seen massacres in Sutherland Springs, El Paso, Fort Hood, and Santa Fe, and we’ve grieved with communities touched by gun violence across the country.

But Uvalde feels different. There’s something that shocks the conscience about what a gunman can do to a small child.

I have a six-year-old and an eight-year-old in school. Every morning after the shooting in Uvalde, I’ve thought about the parents who never got to pick their children up from school, and I’ve wondered – are my kids safe? Are any of us safe?

The tragedy in Uvalde needs to be a wake-up call to pass stronger gun safety laws. This week, I joined my colleagues in the House to vote for a package of common-sense gun safety regulations that aim to prevent the next mass shooting. As we continue this work, I want to hear which policies matter the most to you.

What common-sense gun safety measures do you want Congress to pass?
