Things could not be any worse… Politico recently published audio tapes in which GOP operatives discuss and train “poll workers” that they’ve enlisted to contest votes in heavily Democratic voting districts.
The GOP wants to put people who think the 2020 election was stolen in charge of polling locations, and are connecting them with lawyers and district attorneys who can block vote counts if they’re challenged.
It’s hard to imagine a more dire situation for democracy, and we don’t know if we can stop it but we need your help to elect more House Democrats.
The GOP has become so desperate for power that the institutions of democracy that have existed for hundreds of years mean nothing to them if it inhibits their drive for power.
If they’re willing to send their lackeys to polling locations and get district attorneys to block vote counts, it will only get worse if they return to power. Democrats will likely be locked out of rule for a generation, and the United States could very well become a one-party state with a taste of anti-democratic fascism.
