[1]Bowman for Congress
John, it’s a
pleasure to meet you — I’m Melissa. I’d love to tell you a bit about my
extraordinary husband, Jamaal.

I first met Jamaal in 2009 at CASA, the Cornerstone Academy for Social
Action. Jamaal was coming in as the middle school principal, and I was at
the elementary school in the same building. Our first date was going to
see Mission Impossible, Ghost Protocol.
From the very beginning, Jamaal and I had a special, one-of-a-kind
connection — we could talk about education, our passions, and dreams we
had for our community as if we had known each other for years. Our visions
and ideals just matched.
I love that Jamaal dreams big — and honestly,
John, I think that’s the reason I
first fell in love with him. I love that to Jamaal, his dreams aren’t just
going to stay dreams — he has a unique ability to make them real. He feels
something, sees a path forward, and fights for his vision until it’s
reality.
Jamaal isn’t your average politician. As a Congressman, I see him day in
and day out in our community, fighting for working people and those who
are most vulnerable. I’ve witnessed people seek his help, and I’ve seen
him go above and beyond to ensure our NY-16 neighbors have what they need
not just to survive, but to thrive.
Maybe I’m a little biased, but I can think of no better person to fight
for us in Congress. [ [link removed] ]And John,
it would mean the world to me if you could
contribute to his re-election campaign in the midst of this tough primary
— $3 would make a huge difference.

I’m so proud to be standing with you supporting Jamaal — and I know that
with your help, we’ll have what it takes to win this election, keep Jamaal
in Congress, and continue fighting for a brighter, more equitable future
for all of us.
With love,
Melissa
