Hi,

It's been 18 months since Joe Biden was sworn in as president.

And yet Trump megadonor Louis DeJoy is still in charge of the U.S. Postal
Service.

DeJoy has slowed delivery times and raised prices. He's removed
mail-sorting machines. And, in the face of rising gas prices and a burning
planet, he wants to spend billions on a fleet of delivery trucks that get
less than 9 miles per gallon.

Enough is enough. Louis DeJoy must go.

The good news is that last month the Senate finally confirmed the last of
President Biden's picks to join the Postal Service Board of Governors, a
key step to allow DeJoy to be fired.^1 Now we need to turn up the pressure
and demand that they get rid of DeJoy now.

[ [link removed] ]We're closer than ever to finally getting rid of Postmaster General
Louis DeJoy. Will you chip in to keep the pressure on and demand the
firing of Louis DeJoy?

DeJoy's efforts to slow mail delivery during a crucial election in the
middle of global pandemic were horrific, but his commitment to gas-burning
postal trucks of the past just might take the cake.

While Biden wants to make the government vehicle fleet emissions-free,
DeJoy is working for the opposite.^2

DeJoy signed a contract and made a down payment on 165,000 gas-powered
trucks before any review was made public. He ignored environmental
impacts, including air pollution and global warming.^3 And he failed to
acknowledge simple economics: in the long run, electric trucks will be
cheaper to operate and will save taxpayers billions.^4

Demand Progress members and our allies have helped build widespread public
awareness that Louis DeJoy is a corrupt Trump crony who should be fired.
We supported legislation reforming the Postal Service to undo some of the
damage he's caused. Meanwhile, a coalition of environmentalists,
autoworkers, and state attorneys general is suing to force DeJoy to buy
clean electric vehicles instead -- just as Biden had intended. And since
DeJoy skipped legally required steps and rebuffed advice from the
inspector general, they have a good chance to win.^5

With the last of Biden's nominees confirmed, it's time for the Postal
Service Board to fire DeJoy once and for all. But we need to keep the
pressure on.

[ [link removed] ]Will you chip in to urge the members of the Postal Service Board to
fire Louis DeJoy once and for all?
