Ten years ago, state and business leaders set out to transform our economic approach, targeting high-wage, export-based jobs and industries.

Today, those efforts are paying off.

Arizona has rebounded faster and with more resiliency than nearly every other state. At over three million, we have more jobs than ever before. Our unemployment rate is the lowest in over 45 years. And our highly diverse economy offers opportunity across the economic spectrum.

On top of that, Arizona has built a reputation as the go-to place for advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies. Semiconductors. Electric vehicles. Batteries. Aerospace and Defense. Medical technology. Renewable energy. Cybersecurity. Quantum Computing. Artificial Intelligence. Nanosatellites. Agritech. Freshwater science and more.

From innovative start-ups developing life-changing applications to world-leading companies announcing historic investments, Arizona is the place to be for innovation.

Arizona’s success would not be possible without the close collaboration and partnership of so many, with state, regional and local partners, academia, utilities, and private industry working closely together to make our state the best for business.

In this edition of Growing Arizona, you’ll read about how those partnerships are helping drive new industries focused on sustainability, growing our manufacturing base, continually enhancing our robust talent pipeline, and keeping our small businesses strong. You’ll also see how, with leaders like Governor Ducey and our legislators establishing the conditions for success, Arizona is primed for incredible growth in the years to come.

From every corner of our state, in our rural and urban communities, and whether you’ve operated in Arizona for generations or just launched, opportunity abounds. This is our moment. We look forward to maximizing it to our fullest economic potential.
