I am grateful for the support from voters across Oregon during the primary election. Their support means that there will be a Labor Commissioner runoff election for the first time in 10 years, bringing the opportunity to voters who choose to sit out the partisan primary for the first time in a decade. I am looking forward to campaigning across Oregon and across party lines to listen to your concerns and earn your vote in November. Voters are ready for change in Salem, and so am I! I bring to this race the necessary experience of being a former elected school board member, former legislator and 18 years of owning a small business, a restaurant owner. With my colleagues on the Bend-LaPine School Board, building 4 new schools and making existing schools safer. As a legislator with my colleagues, fighting to pass Oregon’s strongest-in-the-nation paid family leave law. I have a proven history of taking on the powerful special interests that are taking our state in the wrong direction. I will provide the new, outside leadership BOLI needs to better protect the rights of workers and small businesses, tenants and landlords and to improve opportunities for people to work in much-needed skilled trades.

If Oregon is to have a stronger, fairer economy in the future, it needs a well-functioning BOLI office, and we can accomplish this in November together. But I can only do this work with you by my side. I need your help now more than ever. Please reply to this email if you are able to volunteer, display a lawn sign, or host an event!

Between now and the general election, I will do what I have always done throughout my public service: listen to Oregonians about their problems and how I can help. Come January, with your support, I look forward to doing something else I’ve always done in public service: get results for taxpayers.
