New budget deal protects aging services
Congress and the White House announced agreement on a deal to raise the budget caps and the debt ceiling through FY21. This agreement would provide a total increase of $56.5 billion over the 2019 level for non-defense discretionary programs. The deal still needs to be passed by Congress and signed by the President, and much work needs to be done by Oct. 1 on the 12 annual appropriations bills. Join us in educating lawmakers about how seniors will benefit from this deal. Use our free advocacy toolkit and appropriations action alert to get started.

In case you missed it...

Extreme heat threatens older adults: During the hottest months of the year, it’s especially important to remember that dehydration is one of the ten most frequent diagnoses leading to hospitalization. Make sure to encourage older adults to pack nutritious food and drinking plenty of water, especially before they go on a trip. That preparation pays dividends in the forms of more energy, higher endurance, and protection against common diseases.
