1. Jan. 6 Hearings
There are lots of emotions as the House holds hearings on the January 6th insurrection. The truth of that day is made uglier as we remember a white mob freely attacking the U.S. Capitol compared to the militarized police response to Black Lives Matter protests in D.C. months earlier. 2. MPD
Since George Floyd’s murder, the City of Minneapolis has paid more than $22.2 million in workers’ comp settlements to police officers. This is more important reporting from the Minnesota Reformer: Some MPD officers leave with a trail of lawsuits, complaints while pocketing six-figure settlements.
