Heather Mizeur profits from politics. She TRANSFERRED $195,705.67 from her 2014 gubernatorial campaign to her non-profit corporation, Miz Maryland Inc, which does business as Soul Force Politics. But Heather Mizeur’s lobbying efforts WHILE serving as a Takoma Park Delegate in the Maryland General Assembly are even more suspect and unethical. Here are just two examples:

She TRANSFERRED $195,705.67 from her 2014 gubernatorial campaign to her non-profit corporation, Miz Maryland Inc, which does business as Soul Force Politics.

But Heather Mizeur’s lobbying efforts WHILE serving as a Takoma Park Delegate in the Maryland General Assembly are even more suspect and unethical. Here are just two examples:

  • According to public filings, Mizeur's firm received at least $460,000 when she lobbied for Nanobiosym Inc, Nanobusiness Commercialization Association, Nanoink, and Nanosys for "appropriations for nanotechnology-enabled lithography technology", "appropriations... related to nanotechnology-enabled fuel cells" and "nanotechnology education". DURING THIS SAME TIME, she was the lead sponsor and passed HB1409 to create a $5 million state grant called the Coordinating Emerging Nanobiotechnology Research in Maryland Program.
  • According to these same public records, Mizeur's firm received an estimated $900,000 when she lobbied for Current Technologies\Group. Current Group produced smart grid technologies. She was paid for "advocating for the inclusion of changes in tax treatment of Smart Grid technology in energy and tax legislation" and "energy and tax policy with respect to Smart Grid technology". DURING THIS TIME, she sponsored the Maryland Smart Grid Initiative to create a pilot smart grid technology energy policy.

For years, Mizeur has sought profits over public service, she traded access for cash. She is doing it again.

Mizeur can’t beat Andy Harris in November, we know that. But, her long track record demonstrates she will indeed profit this time around as well.

It’s time to return decency and integrity to Maryland’s First District.
