John,
You might be wondering why you haven’t heard from us since the primary on Tuesday.
With over 110,000 vote-by-mail ballots sent in as of Wednesday, less than 20% of the vote has been reported so far.
That means we are waiting for a greater share of the votes to be counted before making a final statement, but we will keep you in the loop as we receive updates on final results.
Right now, we want to send out a couple of thank you’s — first, to the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters’ Office for their work and for diligently handling the issue of blurry barcodes on ballots.
And of course, we are so grateful to our supporters and volunteers for pouring countless hours into helping our campaign. You made calls with us, gathered signatures that got us on the ballot, knocked doors, had conversations with neighbors, and organized to bring change to our communities.
No matter what the results are, that’s something to be proud of.
More updates to come!
In gratitude and solidarity,
Team Chima For Congress
