John –

Votes from Tuesday's primary are still being counted, but with over 66% now reported, I’m pleased to share that we have won the most votes and are headed to the General Election in a strong position to unseat our likely opponent -- extremist Republican Young Kim.

My opponent and her special interest allies’ dark money have already begun flooding our district with misleading ads. We must prepare quickly for what we know will be a competitive and expensive race in November. Now that we're officially the Democratic nominee, I'm hoping you'll chip in your first donation of $5 to become a Founding Donor of our 2022 General Election effort.

Orange County is ground zero in the fight to keep the Democratic Majority, and there are some key facts about Young Kim that are extremely concerning to local voters. Take a look at where she stands on the issues:

- Guns: Look no further than her A+ rating from the NRA. For years, the gun lobby has impeded gun violence research as a public health issue. And every year, when we lose thousands to this preventable epidemic, Kim looks the other way.

- Choice: Young Kim is staunchly anti-choice, and regularly boasts about her votes against reproductive freedom. The so-called California Pro-Life Council gave her a 100% rating for her opposition to reproductive autonomy, and the Susan B. Anthony List gave her an “A+” rating, which has earned her tens of thousands of dollars in campaign checks.

- Social Security and Medicare: Kim supports Rick Scott’s 11-Point Plan that would sunset Medicare and Social Security within five years.

- Taxes: Kim supports raising taxes on seniors and the middle-class while handing out tax breaks to corporations and the ultra wealthy.

- Big Pharma: Kim sided with big insurance and pharmaceutical companies over the people’s access to affordable healthcare. Time and time again, she has voted “no” on bipartisan legislation to address our broken healthcare system and in return has received over $100,000 in checks throughout her career.

With this race tightening, there’s no time to waste. Help us start strong by chipping in $5 to become a Founding Donor of our 2022 General Election effort.
