40-year High Inflation is a Result of Biden and Blumenthal’s Out of Touch Spending
GREENWICH, CT - Today, it was reported the consumer price index increased 8.6% in May, the fastest it has risen since December 1981. This comes days after Biden told reporters the May jobs report shows “signs of a healthy economy.” As gas prices rise and American salaries fail to keep up with the pace of inflation, Republican candidate for Senate Leora Levy issued the following statement calling inflation a tax on all Americans.

“Biden and Blumenthal are out of touch with the pain their policies and reckless spending have created for hard working American families, due to the strain being placed on household budgets. Their green dreams have caused gas prices to increase almost 35 percent this month and the cost of groceries for a family of four is up to 15 percent higher than it was a year ago. Democrats promised an economic resurgence after pumping trillions of federal dollars into the economy, but a year later, it is obvious to anyone with common-sense that their policies have directly caused skyrocketing prices. Inflation is an insidious tax on every American!
"The American People simply cannot afford to pay for the Democrats’ socialist transformation of our economy. Families need a leader in Washington who will cut government spending and help the U.S. take the steps necessary to avoid a recession. Unfortunately, without a change in policy, economists predict it is more and more likely that our economy is headed for a recession. Unlike Blumenthal, when I am elected to the Senate, I will be a voice for the middle-class and vote to end out-of-control spending.”
