96 [link removed]  Returning $1 Billion to Hoosiers Chairman
Kyle Hupfer speaks during our 2022 Spring Dinner.
If you hadn't heard,
yesterday Governor Holcomb released his inflation relief plan which
would return $1 billion to Hoosiers in addition to the $545 million
currently being returned through the automatic taxpayer refund; he
intends to call a special session by the end of the month to implement
his plan. This announcement came a day before May's consumer price index
report was released, showing inflation jumped to 8.6% year over year, a
new 40-year record.
Unfortunately, Hoosiers are dealing with this
unprecedent level of inflation because of policies shoved through by
Democrats in Washington, D.C., and blindly signed by Joe Biden (who has
taken actions on his own to make the situation even worse). He has
single-handily decimated our energy independence, canceling the
construction of pipelines and the sale of leases just to fulfill his
extreme energy agenda, and in the process, has sent gas prices soaring.
Governor Holcomb's plan will work to combat the effects of this by
getting money directly into the pockets of Hoosiers, providing
meaningful relief in a quick, fair, and efficient manner
This return
is supported by higher-than-expected state revenue — your tax money —
which Republicans have always been responsible stewards of; when we over
collect, we return it, something we've done for a long time.
And now,
because of hardworking Hoosiers and responsible Republican fiscal
management, we are in a position to do that once again.
Enjoy this
week’s newsletter and share it with a friend.
Sincerely,
Chairman
Kyle Hupfer

"The campaign,
called 'IN Indiana,' will build on what Indiana is known for around the
world. That includes the Indianapolis 500, where they've already been
using the slogan with 'Back Home Again in Indiana.'
"Anyone can use
the new slogan. Visit Indiana

“It’s going to have the power of one voice in Indiana, with all the
diversity and all the options available at the grassroots level, at the
ground level.” — Gov. Holcomb
 Proposing Returning $1 Billion to
Hoosier Taxpayers Yesterday, Gov. Holcomb announced a plan to return $1
billion of state reserves to Hoosier taxpayers, following higher than
expected revenue performance for the fiscal year.
Each taxpayer
would collect about $225 in addition to $125 Hoosiers are currently
receiving from the state’s automatic taxpayer refund. All told, each
eligible Hoosier would receive about $350; a married couple filing
jointly would receive about $700.
“Hoosiers have real needs right
now during this period of high inflation, from the gas pump to buying
groceries, and everyone should benefit from the state’s success.
“I’ve met with Speaker Huston and Senator Bray and have asked them to
discuss getting a billion dollars back into Hoosier hands with their
colleagues. I’ve committed to work with them to call a special session
before the end of June to take action to align this second round of
returns with our current ATR.” — Gov. Holcomb
If approved, an
additional deposit would be made to the bank accounts of eligible
Hoosiers, just like the current ATR. For those who will receive paper
checks beginning in August, one check for $350 for individual
taxpayers, or $700 for those filing jointly, would be issued.
Announcing an Appointment to the Indiana Supreme Court Today,
Gov. Holcomb announced his selection to replace retiring Indiana
Supreme Court Justice Steven David with Judge Derek Molter.
“Derek
Molter is devoted to the cause of justice and maintaining the integrity
of our justice system. He’s proven during his lengthy legal career and
his tenure on the Indiana Court of Appeals his dedication to the
critical role the judiciary plays in our system of government and the
future of our state.” — Gov. Holcomb
"The basic idea is that we
interpret legal text like the Constitution consistent with the
understanding of that text at the time it was enacted or ratified. The
virtue of that philosophy is that it anchors the court to ensure that
it's exercising its judicial role. Under our separation of powers,
that's the only role judges are here to perform — they're not here to
perform the legislative role." — Judge Derek Molter on "original
intent"

 Joe Biden Promised This
[link removed]   With gas prices
reaching a $5 national average, it's important to remember that Joe
Biden promised to sacrifice the livelihoods of thousands of Americans —
up to 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘀 of thousands — just to fulfill his extreme
energy agenda.
What has the result been? Soaring gas prices and
skyrocketing inflation.
It's time to unleash American energy!
