Dear John,
Bees are dying, and the EPA isn’t doing anything about it.
Beekeepers lost nearly half of their hives last year -- jeopardizing our whole food system. A key cause: the overuse of bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides.
In the face of the EPA’s inaction, Congress has the responsibility to protect the bees we depend on. It must pass the Saving America’s Pollinators Act (SAPA).
SAPA would ban toxic bee-killing pesticides. But your legislators will only act if they feel pressure from constituents like YOU! Will you to speak up for stronger bee protections John?
Help save the bees: Tell your Representative to ban bee-killing pesticides today!
Bees and other pollinators are vital to our food system. They pollinate two-thirds of the foods we eat every day -- from almonds to blueberries. Without bees, we would have a hard time feeding our families some of our healthiest and favorite foods. But rampant neonic use is driving alarming bee die-offs.
And neonics hurt more than just bees. Recent studies show that these pesticides make song birds lose weight and delay migration, which is especially concerning since more than half of all songbird species are in decline. And research shows they contaminate rivers across the country and can cause fish die-offs.
What’s more, our recent peer-reviewed study found that these pesticides have caused a build-up of toxicity in the environment over time. U.S. agriculture is now 48 times more toxic to insect life, and neonicotinoids are mostly to blame.
The Saving America’s Pollinators Act is a crucial step to protect our entire food system. But without a groundswell of grassroots support for SAPA, our legislators could fall on the side of the pesticide industry and Bayer’s bee-washing!
Take Action NOW: Tell Congress to protect our pollinators and our food system from bee-killing neonics!
Neonic pesticides are the most widely used insecticides in the world. They’re long-lasting and systemic, staying in the environment for years. We can’t even wash them off our food. Each day Congress fails to pass the Saving America’s Pollinators Act, our bees, butterflies and environment suffer.
The pesticide industry wants to be allowed to keep poisoning bees, and the EPA is letting them. That’s why we need bold, direct legislation like the Saving America’s Pollinators Act.
We must protect bees, butterflies, and our entire ecosystem. But your legislators will only act if they hear from constituents like you. Can we count on your support?
Protect our pollinators: Tell your Representative to save bees from toxic pesticides!
