** The four-day Platinum Jubilee Weekend: in photos ([link removed]) đź‘‘ ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
We had a fantastic four days of celebrations across Oldham to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and it’s been amazing to see you all share and enjoy this historic occasion.

An eagerly-anticipated torchlit procession and beacon lighting event kicked off Oldham’s packed weekend of Jubilee events in style on Thursday ([link removed])

The procession took place in Oldham town centre where the torchbearers nominated by Oldham residents congregated at Oldham Parish Church to light a beacon.

Oldham’s Jubilee weekend included a two-day family friendly festival with street theatre, live music, dance, art, and activities including arts and crafts, and big screens showing the national Jubilee Pageant in London. Hundreds of street parties also took place across the borough ([link removed])

Thanks to all of you involved in last weekend's Jubilee celebrations. Whether you attended an event or held one over the weekend, your efforts and time have been appreciated.

Loneliness Awareness Week: 13–17 June
Nobody should ever feel lonely, but sadly it’s not uncommon.

Created and hosted by Marmalade Trust, their annual campaign raises awareness of loneliness across the UK (and beyond) and gets people talking about it.

Loneliness is a natural human emotion. We are hard-wired to need social connection. Feeling lonely is a useful prompt for us to look at our social needs and wellbeing. ([link removed])

Marmalade Trust has put together practical guides to help combat the feeling of loneliness ([link removed]) for you to look at if you need support.
