We have no room for error.

I’ll be honest, John: we’ve got no room to come up short this year.

And in just a few days, our first major election of the year is taking place.

In Maine’s 7th State Senate District, Republican Brian Langley is running against Democrat Nicole Grohoski. But Brian has refused to debate Nicole, lied about her record, and is a sure-fire rubber stamp for the Maine GOP if he wins. Langley won’t even say where he stands on the GOP’s anti-abortion, anti-LGBTQ+, far right party platform that he is running on.

But his silence tells us everything we need to know. If elected, we’re confident Brian Langley would vote to ban abortion, criminalize same-sex marriage, and repeal Medicaid expansion, which over 90,000 Mainers rely on for affordable health care.

I’m sure you need no reminder – but everything is at stake this election. We’re going to need Democratic champions in our state legislatures who are willing to go to bat for issues working families care about – like creating good-paying jobs, lowering healthcare costs, and defending Roe v. Wade.

But if Brian Langley’s campaign thus far is any indication of how he’ll serve Maine if elected, we don’t have high expectations.

We must elect Nicole Grohoski and win more elections up and down the ballot this fall.

You can make a difference TODAY. A contribution of $10, or whatever you can spare, is going to help us win this election, defend Maine, and continue our progress.

Thank you,

Drew Gattine
