Dear Sheehan,
As a special educator, I have always been saddened by the high number of children of color in special education. It is important to me that the Children's Defense Fund advocates for an equitable education system where children are given the attention they need, without being inappropriately labeled or subjected to discrimination.
The Children's Defense Fund's work, research and awareness has really spoken to me and has helped me put words and practice to my thoughts and assumptions.
