Today, Bill will officially file seeking the Democratic Party nomination for Lt. Governor at the NC State Board of Elections in Raleigh on Monday, December 2, at 12 PM.
Mr. Toole is the only candidate for Lt. Governor supporting the legalization of cannabis in our state. “Our elected leaders in North Carolina are tone-deaf when it comes to cannabis. We need a rigorous debate about legalizing cannabis and providing controlled access to taxed and regulated cannabis through our existing ABC system. Local counties and local communities will be able to decide if they want to legalize cannabis,” said Mr. Toole.
“I believe that we also need to discuss expungement of non-violent criminal records of persons who have been convicted of misdemeanor possession. Too many young people have been caught up in our legal system as a result of minor possession charges. That needs to change,” added Mr. Toole.
