The first night of January 6 hearings just ended, and what we have learned so far has been absolutely shocking. 

We just heard the grueling testimonies from Officer Caroline Edwards, one of the police officers who rushed into the fight to defend the Capitol despite the violence. She described her most vivid memory of the day: when she fell behind the line of rioters, her breath caught in her throat and she saw "a war scene." Officers bleeding on the ground, slipping in people’s blood, catching people as they fell. Unimaginable carnage and chaos -- "the middle of a battle."   

MAGA extremists led a terrorist attack on the Capitol and tried to violently overthrow our government. 

Sitting Republicans are calling the heinous events of January 6th legitimate political discourse. And they will absolutely allow it to happen again -- and the next time, they could succeed.

We cannot let this happen on our watch. We must prevent the GOP from taking the majority in Congress this November, and setting the stage for the next insurrection.
