Madeleine is back in DC where, this week, House Democrats passed the Protecting Our Kids Act – a package of eight common sense gun control measures to curb the scourge of gun violence in our country.

Madeleine has long been a strong advocate for stricter gun control measures. In fact, the first piece of legislation she introduced in Congress back in 2019 had to do with regulating untraceable firearms known as “ghost guns” – she was proud to support the Protecting Our Kids Act, which will:

  • Increase federal penalties for gun trafficking
     
  • Increase the age to purchase a gun from 18 to 21
     
  • Require the registration of existing bump stocks and ban the sale of dangerous bump stocks to civilians
     
  • Ban the import, sale, and manufacturing of high-capacity magazines
     
  • And much more

As a serious, solutions-oriented legislator, Mad knows that we must take action to ensure that Americans can live lives free of the fear of gun violence – inaction is not a choice:
