John —
Now that we’re officially in the general election cycle, Iowa media is paying attention to our Democratic candidates — especially the races to flip key Senate seats.
The Des Moines Register identified three Democrats on the ballot in especially competitive races: Sarah Trone Garriott in SD14, Matt Pries in SD23, and Todd Brady in SD21.
Our candidates are service-oriented people, who are focused on being in their communities and solving problems that real people are facing every day.
We know that these are strong candidates who can unseat dangerous, far-right Republicans and make Iowa a better place to live, work, and raise a family. But we need all hands on deck to compete with Republican spending.

- Senator Sarah Trone Garriott has a proven track record of advocating for Iowa families in the Senate. She was the only Democrat to flip a Republican-held seat in 2020, and she’s ready to flip another one this year — especially because she’ll be unseating Republican Senate President and anti-teacher extremist Jake Chapman.
- Matt Pries is a father, educator, coach, and church leader in Grimes. He is continuing his work of serving his community by answering the call to join the Iowa Senate and make Iowa a happier and healthier state. He is running to unseat Senate Majority Leader Jack Whitver, a partisan career politician who broke his promise on term limits and lied about his home address to run in a more conservative district.
- Todd Brady is an Ankeny software engineer who is using his professional skills to save lives, first by making sure Iowans could access COVID-19 vaccines and most recently by connecting Iowa families with baby formula during the nationwide shortage. Todd is a solution-oriented problem solver who is just what we need to get our state back on track.

We’re so glad that these strong candidates are getting statewide attention — but there’s a lot of work to be done between now and November, and we need serious resources to get it all done. Will you rush a contribution to the Senate Majority Fund today to support these candidates in their critical elections?

Thank you,
