Hi John, we wanted to reach out about some exciting developments for eastern Connecticut.
Last week, Joe received word from Secretary Pete Buttigieg that Enfield was awarded a $14 million federal grant for the construction of a new train station. Joe’s office has worked for 15 years to reconnect Enfield, which has been without a train station since 1986, to intercity rail.
Earlier this month, the Small Business Administration and the Department of Transportation visited small businesses in our district to highlight how the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Joe proudly voted for, is helping small businesses by improving the supply chain and ensuring customers have safe roads to get to stores.
Last Saturday, Electric Boat held a keel-laying ceremony to mark the beginning of construction for the USS District of Columbia, the first of the Columbia-class submarines which make up the largest shipbuilding program in the Navy’s budget. Joe had worked to secure funding for this boat since 2015 to create new job opportunities for the region.
Last month, the Environmental Protection Agency announced $254.5 million in Brownfields grants to 265 communities, with $7 million coming to communities right here in Connecticut. This funding was only possible thanks to the hard work of Joe and his Democratic colleagues who worked alongside President Biden to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Joe always prioritizes the people of this district, but that’s exactly why Kevin McCarthy and Washington Republicans are targeting eastern Connecticut so fiercely.
We hope that just like Joe shows up for us, you’ll show up for him. John, can you chip in to our people-powered campaign today so we can keep Joe advocating for eastern Connecticut in Washington?

Time and time again, Joe shows up for us. He’s not afraid to take on the toughest challenges our region faces, which is why we know he will win in November.
Thank you for your support,
Team Courtney
