As we await the final decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, NIRH is preparing for the abortion access fallout in states across the country.

A devastating outcome could be the increase in criminalization for abortion. Right now, criminalization for pregnancy outcomes is already a reality, especially for people who self-manage their abortion or are suspected of doing so. This situation will only get worse if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

I wanted to share with you some important work we’ve been doing in Michigan, a critical abortion access state that also has a pre-Roe ban that would criminalize abortion providers if Roe is overturned.

This week, we launched a digital ad campaign to raise awareness of what could happen in Michigan – and beyond – if the Supreme Court declares there is no legal right to abortion.
